About

I’m a husband and dad, but by day I’m a sysadmin managing risk. What kind of risk? Financial risk, reputation risk and operational risk… actually, it’s pretty much everything, all the time.

I architect, implement, administer and troubleshoot services, servers and infrastructure devices (local and cloud-based). I have a love for elegant solutions, and Powershell! I write about things I am familiar with, things I’m learning, and the things that I’ve had to understand in order to help others understand.

I’ve been managing computers and infrastructure since NT 3.51 and Netware. Every day, I try to keep 400 users, 400 servers and my bosses happy. Most difficult problems at work eventually bubble up to me, so I’m regularly involved with many different technologies. On a typical day, I have greasy hands from working with AD, Exchange, architecture/design as well as firewalls, switches and the network stack.
